That is the first thing, because it is the first thing everybody else is about to tell you.
Researchers put men in a sauna twice a day for seven days and measured testosterone, luteinising hormone and FSH before and after. Nothing moved. Not a little. Nothing.
You can check that in about ten seconds. That is the point. Everything else on this page can be checked the same way, and we would rather you did.
Source: Seven day twice daily Finnish sauna protocol, no statistically significant change in testosterone, LH or FSH.
You have seen the growth hormone one.
Two to five times higher. Sixteen times, in the version that gets shared.
It comes from a study published in 1989. Eight men. All of them young.
There is a second finding in that same literature that nobody quotes. When researchers split men by age, the group between thirty-one and forty-six showed a growth hormone rise of about a hundred and fifty percent.
Read that again slowly. The single most repeated claim about men and saunas was measured on men half your age. When somebody finally measured it on men your age, it did not happen.
The calorie number has the same problem. Forty-five men, average age twenty. About a hundred calories a session, which is a walk, not a workout. Anyone telling you six hundred is guessing.
Sources: Eur J Appl Physiol, 1989, eight healthy young men, PMID 2759081. BioMed Res Int, 2019, 45 men, mean age 20.76, PMID 30800676.
Here is a number about men that has nothing to do with saunas.
Thirty-seven percent of men have sat in front of a doctor and left something out.
Not lied. Left something out. Because they had already worked out roughly what the answer was going to be, and had decided they were not ready to hear somebody say it in a room.
Sixty-five percent avoid going at all, for as long as they can. Across two years, men attend preventive appointments at half the rate women do.
You are not unusual. You are the majority.
We are not going to spend the next paragraph telling you to book an appointment. You know. Being told again, by a company that sells saunas, is not going to be the thing that changes it.

It is not a hormone product and it is not a weight loss product.
What twenty minutes of heat is about is the part nobody sells, because it is unglamorous.
How fast you come back. Whether you sleep. What your blood pressure is doing while you are not thinking about it.
That is the part with twenty years of evidence behind it. It is also the only part you can still move without anybody's permission.
Twenty minutes. No appointment, no blood test, nobody asking you questions.
You will sit in a box in your garage for twenty minutes, four or five times a week, because it is warm and it is yours and nobody else is in there. That is the whole intervention. It is the only one in this category that does not require you to admit anything to anyone.
What the heat is actually doing while you sit in it.
Full spectrum infrared warms your body directly instead of only heating the air around you. Your heart rate rises, your vessels open, you sweat. It supports recovery and supports sleep. Medical grade red light is built in, 660nm and 850nm, two wavelengths because they work at two different depths.

Warms you directly
Your body, not just the air around you.
660nm and 850nm
Medical grade red light, built in, not an attachment.
Twenty minutes
Four or five times a week. Warm in about fifteen minutes.
Regular outlet, 110V
Nothing fixed to the building, nothing drilled.
On calories, honestly: roughly 73 to 131 calories a session in the one study that measured it, comparable to light exercise. It is not nothing and it is not a workout. A separate controlled trial found no significant change in fat mass after twelve sessions.

Two thousand three hundred and fifteen men.
Aged forty-two to sixty. Eastern Finland. Followed for a median of twenty point seven years, and published in JAMA Internal Medicine.
A second arm started with sixteen hundred and twenty-one men who did not have high blood pressure and followed them for twenty-four point seven years.
That is an association in one population. It is not a promise about you, and we are not going to dress it up as one.
It is also the reason any of this research exists. Every other health claim you read this year will be about mice, or athletes, or somebody else. This one was about men your age, and it ran for two decades.
You are the only man on the internet today who does not have to extrapolate anything.

The only randomised trial says it goes after.
Forty-seven people, average age forty-nine, none of them active, all with at least one cardiovascular risk factor. Eight weeks, three groups: exercise, exercise plus fifteen minutes of sauna afterwards, or nothing.
The group that added the sauna came out ahead of the group that exercised alone, on cardiorespiratory fitness and on systolic blood pressure.
Small trial. Eight weeks. It is the only randomised evidence that exists, and it settles the one question worth settling: this is not instead of the gym. It is the fifteen minutes after it.
And on sleep, the honest version. Four hundred and eighty-two sauna users were asked. Eighty-three and a half percent said they slept better. That is a survey of what people said, not a trial, which is exactly why we can tell you about it.

The hardest part of red light therapy is standing in front of it. You are already sitting down.
Panels sell on their own for $300 to $2,000 and ask for 10 to 20 minutes, three to five times a week, standing there doing nothing. Same length as a sauna session, same frequency.
Six hundred and sixty nanometres works at the surface. Eight hundred and fifty reaches into muscle. In the photobiomodulation literature that pairing is the best supported one, and a 2017 meta-analysis of eighteen randomised trials looked at red light and delayed onset muscle soreness against placebo.
It is in the box. Not an upsell, not an attachment, not a subscription.

What Tuesday looks like, and what it asks of your house.
Most owners land on four or five sessions a week, twenty minutes each. Most go after the gym or before dinner. It is warm in about fifteen minutes, so you turn it on when you take your boots off. You shower after, not before.
Solara
35 by 37 inches of floor, 63 inches tall on the outside, so it clears a standard doorway. Fits adults up to 6 foot 8 seated. About 30 minutes to assemble, one person, no tools, nothing drilled.
Pulse PRO
Folds into a carry bag about a metre tall and goes in a closet between sessions. PFAS free, OEKO-TEX certified cover. Same regular household outlet.
Nothing is wrong with you. That is exactly why this is the moment.
There is a version of you that starts this year, and a version that starts at sixty-two. Both of them do the same twenty minutes. One of them gets ten more years of it.
That is the entire difference. It is not that your body will be worse later. It is that a habit needs runway, and runway is the one thing that only ever gets shorter.
Almost nobody starts these things while they are fine. They start after something happens, and by then it is not a decision, it is a reaction, and somebody else is telling them to.
You are fine. You get to choose. And today is the earliest you will ever be.
From men over 50 who bought one.
It’s only been a few days but I am loving my SaunaBox. Very easy set up and this is my third consecutive day using after a workout and I can start to feel the impact.
The fit and finish is superb. Very impressed and looks amazing in my home gym. I use it every other day. Works great. Very happy with my purchase.
My wife and I use it every day. I use like an hour or two before bed to help me unwind, and I sleep like a rock.
